Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Staffing Assistant is responsible for daily staffing of the nursing personnel which entails interpersonal communication, problem solving, completing necessary record keeping and customer service skills.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: High School graduate.
    • Experience: Prior front line customer service experience. Basic computer/keyboarding skills necessary.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A

    • Experience: One (1) year general clerical experience or combination of general clerical experience and training equal to one (1) year.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of basic communication skills and working with people; knowledge of computer keyboard. Ability to work concurrently with numerous details and interruptions with accuracy and timeliness; to organize work well; to work independently with minimal supervision; to exercise discretion and confidentiality when relating to employees, concerning staffing and scheduling adjustments, and to make decisions accordingly and reasonably; to communicate tactfully with nursing leadership and other hospital staff.

      READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
