JOB SUMMARY

The Staffing Assistant is responsible for daily staffing of the nursing personnel which entails interpersonal communication, problem solving, completing necessary record keeping and customer service skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School graduate.

Experience: Prior front line customer service experience. Basic computer/keyboarding skills necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of basic communication skills and working with people; knowledge of computer keyboard. Ability to work concurrently with numerous details and interruptions with accuracy and timeliness; to organize work well; to work independently with minimal supervision; to exercise discretion and confidentiality when relating to employees, concerning staffing and scheduling adjustments, and to make decisions accordingly and reasonably; to communicate tactfully with nursing leadership and other hospital staff.

WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.

SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
